To make the most of this ultimate BH weekend, we’ve planned out two ways to spend the four blissful days of summer in Vauxhall; a right royal Jubilee knees-up, or take some time away from the hustle and bustle.

Queenie Jubilee Weekend

Vauxhall is probably the place for those who are FULL blown Queen nuts. We are, of course, the home to the alternative way of celebrating all things wild and wonderful, so here’s to your 70 years, Liz.

News just in… Above The Stag have announced they are hosting a Jubilee street party on Friday, June 03! 🚨GOD SAVE THE QUEEN🚨 as they say! The team are taking over their terrace on Albert Embankment with a BBQ, music and lots of west end entertainment.

Our favourite independent pub and restaurant, The Jolly Gardeners, are hooking up with East London Tap Room, Forest Road Brewery to throw their own Lizzie knees-up. The boys will have Beer Pong, Mariokart / N64 and proper beer prizes.

Our pub on the park, The Black Dog, is partying royal style with limited edition drinks and desserts. Remember booking is essential for the garden, outdoor terrace and restaurant! Always dog friendly.

When you and your 30 closest mates want to spend your BH’s together, Vauxhall Food and Beer Garden is always a winner. Their 👑🇬🇧Queens Day 🇬🇧👑 is a fancy dress affair where they will expect all the Glam and Sass of royals of yesteryear! Dance to disco while sipping on BOTTOMLESS cocktails and prosecco. Book your spot on their website – vauxhallfoodbeergarden.com

The Eagle London  are going back in time for their Queen’s Jubilee party. Actor and Drag Performer David Dale is making his come back live on stage at 9pm. With DJs till 4am, it’s the perfect after-Queenie-Party. Limited £10 advance tickets online, £12 at the door. Book your tickets here.

Last but not least, you can rely on the Royal Vauxhall Tavern to bring all things glitz and glamour. Watch Shania Pain and the D.E. Experience strut their stuff at a Jubilee Weekend Special Sunday Cabaret. Doors open at 4pm, so get your £10 ticket now to close your weekend with a priceless package of comedy, drag and DJ sets. Tickets here.

An Alternative Jubilee Weekend

There is plenty to fill your bank holiday with if you aren’t in the Jubilee mood. We promise there won’t be a bit of bunting in sight.

Vauxhall boasts a vast selection of fitness and well-being spots to get you trim, centred, or pumped. F45 Vauxhall wants to take your fitness to the next level – they offer a free 15 mins consultation and a 7-day trial. Go on; you might feel hot to trot once you’ve been.

Up the road at Embassy Gardens, head for a spin with Static Flow, who spent a cool one million on their Nine Elms studio. Running up the stairs might be an issue the next day, but your workmates will have spin envy!

There is a woman called Paula, AKA UcanYoga, who teaches Yin & Restorative at Embody Vauxhall every Friday evening. She is an incredible teacher, author and firm believer in #SwitchOffSundaysone to keep in mind for our bank holiday Sunday brains.

OK, enough of all the healthy stuff. Where are the cocktails? Cottons Tropical Brunch is where you want to be heading then, Misses. Pick a starter, a main and a dessert from their delicious brunch menu and enjoy 2 hours of bottomless Rum punch or Prosecco, all set to a reggae soundtrack. Yup that’ll do….

For those not looking to pump iron or part take in any day drinking, why not stroll around Vauxhall and take in the city’s calm. Stock up on your plant supply at Andy’s Spring Nursery, have a coffee and lemon drizzle at the Ragged Canteen, check out the new exhibition at Gasworks, then take in a beer or wine at Faith’s Place with the donkeys and ducks.
