LGBT Theatre in Vauxhall

Above the Stag Theatre and Bar is the UK’s dedicated LGBT+ theatre, cabaret lounge and bar, and it’s based right on our doorstep here in Vauxhall. Well known for its carefully gay-themed programme with shows such as Beautiful Thing and Grindr: The Opera, this theatre has received awards and accolades winning Boyz Awards in 2014, 2015 2016 and runner-up, Time Out Love London Awards 2018.

The multipurpose space includes 2 theatres which comprise a 100-seat main house and a 60-seat studio, a café, a bar and a gallery. Exhibitions, readings and other events are hosted throughout the annual performance calendar to introduce new writers, photographers and a selection of different and very talented artists.

Enjoy food and drink in the bar under the railway arches or on their outdoor terrace before the amazing theatre productions all hosted within a very intimate environment.
