Classical Vauxhall is coming back for its third year, bringing outstanding new and established artists to Vauxhall. This series is inspired by the visionary Jonathan Tyers, who opened the Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens to make entertainment accessible to everyone.

Funded by Vauxhall One and run by Artistic Director Fiachra Garvey, this year we have expanded the festival to include 5 distinct performances, each with its own theme, spread over 4 days in St Mark’s Church.

So let us bring you back from the depths of winter with a heart-warming classical experience in a beautiful setting.

Programme of Events:

10 Feb – Love and Loss

Classical Vauxhall’s opening night programme features works reflecting the theme of love and loss in a perfect lead up to Valentine’s Day.

11 Feb – Beautiful Brahms

Dynamic German/Ukrainian duo Leonard Elshenbroich (cello) and Alexei Grynyuk (piano) perform a sumptuous selection of Beautiful Brahms.

12 Feb – Glimpses of Light

Described by Gramophone as ‘artists to watch’, Amatis Trio deliver a programme of large scale works by Austrian composer Schubert and Soviet-Russian composer and pianist Shostakovich.

12 Feb – The Royal Opera House is Burning: Late Night Drag

Sought-after countertenor Kangmin Justin Kim joins forces with Fiachra Garvey (piano) for a wild night of classical drag!

13 Feb – Snapshots of a Romance

Join Metropolitan Opera’s star Elizabeth Llewellyn (soprano) and Simon Lepper (piano) for a poignant and heartfelt finale on Valentine’s Eve.
