Join us for a guided walk and experience Vauxhall in the steps of pioneering women who have made their mark here over the centuries.
We’ll meet a 13th century feminist who fought for a woman’s right to choose a husband; the daring women who topped the bill at Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens in the 19th century; and the brilliantly talented Barlow sisters at Doulton’s Lambeth Art Pottery, who were instrumental in the ceramic business and employed over 200 female workers in 1880.
Your guide will be Dr Jane Jordan, an accredited Lambeth Guide and an expert on 19th century women’s history.
