Mixed Marvels Exhibition

In the mid-1960s, Ken Artspace was a grocery and pet food shop. Mixed Marvels is the name of an old photograph that shows the gallery in its convenience store heyday. Marvels were a brand of colourful dog biscuit and the name found itself painted as an advert on the front of the shop. Off the back of this history, the exhibition will feature eight established artists recognised for their exploration of colourful surfaces that shift between figuration and abstraction. The small paintings on show are the work of names including Wendy Anderson, Vivien Blacket, Cecilia Botoluzzi-Brocklin, and Peter Bunting.

Bee Urban Winter Market Trail

Bee Urban, the social enterprise that focuses on responsible urban beekeeping, horticulture, and community growing, is hosting its winter market trail. Starting at Kennington Park Centre, you’ll be able to collect a card before wandering over to the Oval Arts Depot and choosing a free gift. There’ll be a variety of local honey on offer as well as various festive beeswax products ranging from candles to foot balms, body butter, lip balms, propolis-based products, and much more.

Friday 8th 

Christmas Queer Mart 

Marking Vauxhall Food & Beer Garden’s last market of the year is Queermas! In collaboration with VauxhAll Night, over 100 stalls all run by queer artists, business owners, and creatives will take to the buzzy urban oasis to provide an affordable platform to exhibit work, engage with visitors, and sell products. Offering a huge variety of beautiful objects ranging from art prints to ceramics, zines, items of clothing, sculptures, jewellery, textiles, and much more, it’s one of the best places to pick up some unique and quirky gifts for friends and family.

Madonna Christmas Celebration

September saw Melissa Totten make her way to the Eagle London for a sell-out ‘Madonna Celebration’. December sees her return by popular demand for another four nights of intimate, stripped-back live performances of Madonna favourites. Tickets are available for tables of four which include complimentary drinks and festive treats. There are also single standard tickets which include a complimentary festive drink. Brush up on your favourite Madonna tracks and settle into a festive evening of acoustic anthems.

Santa’s Grotto 

Santa has made his way to Vauxhall to hear the wishes of all the good children before the big day! Every weekend until the Sunday before Christmas Eve, families can visit the festive grotto which is nestled within the City Farm. Surrounded by animals, the Christmas market, and Winter Light Trail, the kids can have a chat with their favourite VIP before receiving a present and taking a photo to mark the magical meeting.

Bonnington Centre Christmas Fair 

Arts and crafts take on an entirely new festive meaning at the Bonnington Centre this Christmas. The UpMarket Market sees local creatives and friends of Bonnington Square come together for a celebration of all things handmade. It’s the perfect place to pick up any thoughtful, last-minute Christmas presents for the people in your life that are most difficult to buy for.

Vauxhall City Farm Christmas Market  

Vauxhall City Farm is transforming into a winter wonderland this year with festive activities that will keep you excited in the lead-up to the end of December. Offering the most delicious mince pies and mulled wine with carol singers to keep the mood high, the Christmas market is the perfect place to find some unique items to gift yourself or your loved ones.
