Festival season is upon us and in honour of that spirit Vauxhall’s outdoor spaces are brimming with live music, screenings, parties, and food to set your body and soul alight. Don’t miss out on the fun this month, it’s set to be a scorcher!

Summer Screen

Settle into long summer evenings with free outdoor screenings of the best feel-good movies! Kicking off this month-long marathon is firm family favourite Frozen, followed by the rollercoaster of emotions that is Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Rounding the month off will be some good old-fashioned throwbacks with Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and the one, the only, Grease! There’ll be plenty of street food, popcorn, and drinks available too with options ranging from Filipino inspired bao buns & rice boxes to French-Caribbean street food and signature cocktails. Don’t forget to pre-register!

Saturday 1st 

Pride Night Party 

RVT celebrate the biggest night in the LGBTQ+ calendar with a queer party to end all queer parties. Disco and house will take over with DJ sets from Liam Chaplin, Don’t F**K With Disco, and Beefmince resident DJs Silverhook and Cactushead. And of course, no RVT night would be complete without a glittering lineup of drag acts. Me The Drag Queen will host Mark Anthony, That Girl, and Amazi, strap in for an unforgettable night!

Saturday 8th 

Bearpit Karaoke 

It’s the soundtrack of the month! Hosted at the Pleasure Gardens, this mass karaoke event is one of the best ways to spend summery Saturdays with friends, family, and pets! Sing your heart out to your favourite songs and settle into a long afternoon of great music and incredible food and drink options from Bokit’la’s French-Caribbean street food to Mother Kelly’s beer collection and more. Entry is free but tickets will be scanned so be sure to reserve a spot ahead of time. Picnic blankets and chairs can be hired for £5.

Wednesday 12th 

Yoga in the Park

Dust off your yoga mat and get yourself down to Kennington Park for some Vinyasa Flow. Yogi Christina Miles will teach a bespoke flow to align body, mind, and soul whilst physically strengthening and lengthening. All levels are welcome – from beginner to expert – and the class is laddered so that variations can be added into basic movements making for an inclusive flow for everyone. Thursday 13th 

George Service’s Supperclub 

George Service is a musician, chef, and the founder of popular pizza pop-up, Nice As A Slice. For one night, he’ll take his love of simple and striking flavours to Italo Deli for the creation of a family-style sample menu. Mushroom arancini will be followed by a crisp and light fennel, roast lemon and tomato salad, before a main dish of spiced sumac roasted cauliflower and flatbreads, or steak with café de Paris butter and flatbreads paired with fire roasted seasonal vegetables. Dessert is a homemade lemon/lime and mint sorbet with amaretti biscuits followed by a digestif. Our stomachs are already rumbling!

Thursday 13th 

Sunset Sip & Paint Club 

Paint your way through sunset with a selection of wines from around the world. The Riverside opens its terrace and panoramic views across the Thames from Battersea to Waterloo for an evening to a group of eager painters. For two hours you’ll be armed with blankets, a canvas, brushes and paints, as well as three glasses of wine and nibbles to capture the beauty of the view. The best artist of the evening will even get the chance to take home a bottle of wine (as well as the glory of first place!).

Rooftop Arabic Night

Mezemiso Rooftop Bar’s breathtaking views across London become even more magical with a weekly dose of Arabic music and live performances. Tuck into their magnificent menu of Lebanese and Japanese delicacies alongside some traditional tabla (drum) and spectacular live belly dancing performances. There’ll even be a live DJ set to round off the evening. Saturday nights are famously busy for this buzzing spot so make sure you reserve a table for free ahead of time to avoid disappointment.

Kennington Park Festival 

Following the success of last year’s festival, Kennington Park welcomes back another day of festivities with stalls, workshops, games, sports and much more. The perfect way to spend the afternoon, bring the family or stroll around the park with friends for a relaxed and fun way to round off the weekend.

Sunday 16th

Pilates, Yin Yoga, & Gong Relaxation 

This two-part session will focus on revitalising the connection between heart, body, and mind. Led by pilates teacher Vivi Jonsson, the first half of the session will take you through steps to help reconnect body and mind. Yoga teacher and gong practitioner Jeanette Svensson will then lead the second half which will focus on the heart with a series of heart-opening Yin poses. You’ll be put into a state of sublime relaxation to finish with the healing vibrations of a gong bath.
