Summer is in full swing, and with a bank holiday to tease out the long-weekend, August is packed with events to get you out and about.

Kid’s summer sports camp

Do you have kids aged 8-18 that need to burn off some energy? Then send them down to a free community run basketball, football, boxing, or cricket class.

Sunday 6th

Bottomless Disney Brunch

Pull out those costumes and sprinkle some magic dust. This bottomless brunch is a 3 hour long jamboree of all things Disney. Featuring a live DJ who’ll be pumping out those sing-a-long classics, and – you guessed it – fancy dress is very much encouraged.

’80s Horror Prom Night at The RVT

It’s prom night for the class of ’85, everyone is busy getting dates for the night and picking the perfect dress. But they don’t know the dead have been reincarnated and there is a serial killer stalking the halls. But hey, it’s your big night, so go slay…

Mass-karaoke in the Pleasure Gardens

Put those hairbrush singing in the mirror moments to good use (at last). Anyone can step up to the mic or sing-a-long from the crowd at the most vibrant mass-karaoke event London has to offer.

Kennington Uncovered Walking Tour

Step foot in an elegant listed Georgian Square, discover Prince Albert’s idea of model housing and visit the home of cricket (of course!). You’ll also finally find out what the Jacobite rebellion and Field Marshall Montgomery have in common.

See a play in the making

Be the first to see a new explosive piece of gig theatre in this rehearsed reading. ‘The Other Side’ was written as a celebration of friendship; a love letter to the resilience and gaiety of young women today. After the reading you’ll have a chance to give your feedback over drinks with the team.

Thursday 25th

Artist + musician’s podcast recording

Hear from some of London’s hottest up and coming artists at this podcast recording. The host will be asking the big questions to reveal the stories, moments or life events that they feel have shaped who they are as musicians.

Saturday 27th

Victorian Fun Fair

Be awed by circus acts, entertained by performers, delighted by classic food, and spun around by vintage games galore. The annual Victorian Vauxhall fun fair is back with a bang for kids old and young alike.

Sunday 28th

Walking tour of Vauxhall’s entertaining past

Vauxhall has been at the heart of entertaining Londoner’s for centuries. From the early days of the Pleasure Gardens when royalty would mix with commoners, through to when Charlie Chaplin lived here and was entranced by the lively character he met on the streets, up to today as centre of London’s gay scene and art galleries. Explore the area on this 90-minute walking tour.

Monday 29th

RVT Sports Day

Grab those eggs and spoons and prepare to sprint for your life at the annual Royal Vauxhall Tavern sports day. Run every year since 2007, hundreds of members of the LGBTQ+ community (and allies) come together to raise money for charity. Register a team of at least five friends or just go down for the spectacle.
