June in Vauxhall is stacked. We’re talking World Cup screenings, outdoor karaoke chaos, Afrobeats parties under the arches, contemporary art shows, salsa classes and enough riverside pints to keep your social calendar fully booked.

This month’s line-up swings from wholesome to slightly unhinged in the best possible way. There’s a mum’s wellness reset complete with mamamosas at Elty, Refugee Week Festival at Pan Arts, Dads and Kids Club at Vauxhall City Farm, and Pitch Your Bestie — where friends publicly present their single mates to a room of strangers.

Elsewhere, Vauxhall’s summer staples are back. Bearpit Karaoke returns to the Pleasure Gardens for another season of open-air singalongs, while venues across the neighbourhood gear up for big World Cup nights from 11 June onwards.

Mum’s Glow & Reset Meet Up

Need a reset that involves actual relaxation? Elty Life’s Mum’s Glow & Reset meet-up has you covered.

This laid-back wellness event mixes self-care with socialising, giving local mums the chance to properly switch off for an afternoon. Expect free professional blow-dries, red light therapy, supervised play sessions for the kids and a welcome drink on arrival — yes, that includes mamamosas.

Set inside Elty’s calm riverside café space at St George Wharf, the event is designed to feel relaxed rather than over-programmed. Think coffee, chats, treatments and a bit of breathing space while the kids stay entertained nearby.

Tickets are limited and likely to go quickly.

SECRET at The Handbag Factory

Contemporary art lands in Vauxhall this June with SECRET, a multidisciplinary group exhibition taking over The Handbag Factory.

The show brings together six artists from the Six Artists collective — Terry Barber, Caroline Ingham, Catherine James, Gill Lucas, Octavia Milner and Tabitha Powles — with works spanning painting, installation and mixed media.

The Handbag Factory itself is one of South London’s most interesting independent creative spaces, run by ASC Studios and known for supporting emerging artists and experimental work. It’s intimate, welcoming and refreshingly unpretentious.

Perfect for anyone looking to swap another evening scrolling through Netflix for something a bit more inspiring.

Pitch Your Bestie

Dating apps? Exhausting. Publicly presenting your mate to a room full of strangers via PowerPoint? Weirdly brilliant.

Pitch Your Bestie returns to The Garden Vauxhall this June with another night of chaotic matchmaking, games and socialising. The format is simple: friends take to the stage to “pitch” their single mate using embarrassing stories, photos and questionable slides while the audience decides if they’re interested.

It sounds ridiculous because it is — but that’s exactly why people love it. Even if you’re not single, it’s one of London’s funniest social nights.

Expect cocktails, crowd interaction and plenty of second-hand embarrassment.

World Cup in Vauxhall

Football summer has arrived and Vauxhall is fully ready for it.

From giant open-air screenings at The Garden Vauxhall to packed riverside pubs and floating bars, the neighbourhood is turning into one giant fan zone throughout the tournament.

Keep things local with screenings at Tamesis Dock, The Pilgrim, Mc & Sons, The Windmill, The Duchy Arms, Jolly Gardeners and Battersea Barge.

Whether you’re there for the football or just the excuse to spend long evenings outside with a pint, this is one of the best areas in London to catch the games.

Big fixtures will fill up quickly, so book ahead.

Bearpit Karaoke

There’s karaoke, and then there’s Bearpit Karaoke.

Back in Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens this summer, London’s legendary open-air singalong invites anyone brave enough to step into the spotlight and belt out a tune in front of a crowd of strangers.

Hosted by the iconic Joe Hatchiban, Bearpit has become one of Vauxhall’s most joyful summer traditions. One minute it’s ABBA, the next someone’s passionately screaming Bonnie Tyler while the audience cheers from picnic blankets and deckchairs.

You absolutely do not need to sing to enjoy it. Half the fun is watching the singing chaos unfold.
