Adding to their ever-expanding calendar of events, the Institute of Imagination have a series of activities running throughout August.

The Mega Maker Lab will be running every Tuesday to Sunday thoughout the month, and there will be a range of activities from collaborative events for families, to drop-off classes during the week, to masterclasses. All engaging and all exciting for kids and adults – and somehow in the middle of all that fun pushing the key learning skills required in science, technology, engineering, arts and maths. Entry to each of the different zones is included in the ticket price. In the Imagine & Play zone kids will have the chance to try out the communal LEGO Build the Change challenge, build a giant collaborative structure using Stixx Machines and create your part of a mega marble run the iOi are making!

The Ideas Zone is a space for families to unleash their imagination, a place where no idea is too silly or too small, and everyone has the chance to go a bit bonkers. With inventions galore, it’s a space that more than a few adults can also benefit from. The Challenge Zone is there to push kids (and their parents!) to make their personal creations, such as adding to Super Sky City, the wire-made in-house creation, or creating a upcycled bot. Still got energy for more? The Test Arena is the space to test out all new inventions and prototypes, using wind machines, freewheeling ramps, flight spaces, race spaces and more. It’s perfect for families with children aged 5-12 and tickets start at £5.
