There’s so much more to Easter baking than hot crossed buns. Become an expert in the history of this festival’s cuisine and master a handful of Easter bakes at this three-hour cooking masterclass taught by Sam Bilton.

Taking place in the Garden Museum’s purpose-built studio kitchen, food historian, writer and cook Sam will show you how to whip up a traditional, savoury Easter pie, plus a sticky fig cake. You’ll also try your hand at the all-important hot crossed bun, either sticking to the original recipe, or trying the 17th-century version which is especially good for those prefer just a touch less dried fruit. The class suited to people of all cooking abilities, and is the perfect thing to wow your friends/family/inlaws in the run up to Easter on the 12th — plus you’ll get plenty of recipes to take home with you as well.
