What does it mean to be interdependent, who do you depend on, and who depends on you?

Head down to Gasworks on Saturday 12 October to explore this theme and explore alternative economics at Challenging Interdependence, a workshop and discussion taking place from 2-4pm. Led by artists Ruth Beale and Amy Feneck, who set up the Alternative School of Economics in 2012, this two-hour workshop will invite you to consider what structures we use to work together – and which ones we’re undervaluing.

And if that’s not enough, you can head back the following weekend to take in the annual Art Licks festival, where artists and curators will be showing their creative responses to the theme of interdependence.  Ruth and Amy recently joined Gasworks as their Participation Artists in Residence.

Next up, they’ll be working with local women from across Lambeth and Southwark to explore feminist economics.  Art Licks is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to support artists by giving a voice to under-represented activities that form the grassroots of visual culture in the UK.
