Built on a historic site in 1880, the pub has withstood the test of time and the Luftwaffe bombings in World War II. Having gone through many transformations in its time, it still retains some of its original Victorian charm with the original timber bar, marble fireplaces, and the piano that Charlie Chaplin Snr played takes pride of place in the dining room.
The food-focused pub offers a weekly changing menu, sourcing ingredients from all over the city with a focus on sustainability and less waste. There’s something for everyone; dishes use the best quality British meat sourced from Devon’s Lyon’s Hill Farm and half the menu is plant-based.
Enjoy fiver pints, discover new favourites available on draught or sample some of the local brews from Kernel and Mondo Brewery. Wine buffs can expect an always-changing wine list featuring some of London’s leading wine names.
Only a short walk from the river, the pub welcomes walk-ins for those who are looking to start, or end, a lively day/night out in Vauxhall, with a cosy pub garden available to hire if you’re looking for an exclusive spot to celebrate a special occasion.
