Big Vauxhall Tree Week

Sunday 10 to Sunday 17 May 2026

Big Vauxhall Tree Week celebrates the trees, wildlife and green spaces that shape this unique London neighbourhood.

Across the week, local organisations, artists and environmental experts come together for a programme of FREE walks, talks, creative workshops and wildlife events exploring Vauxhall’s urban nature.

The week culminates in the vibrant Vauxhall May Fair in Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens, a weekend of plants, animals, performances and family-friendly activities.

Film Screening: The Happy Man Tree

When a group of Hackney locals discover that a property developer has been granted permission to fell a much-loved, 150-year-old street tree, they do everything they can to try to save it.

The Happy Man Tree highlights the importance of trees for people and their value in urban streetscapes, raising issues around the importance of retaining nature in urban re-development and the deep connections between people and natural landmarks.

Sunday 10 May, doors open at 4:30pm
The Cinema Museum, 2 Dugard Way, SE11 4TH
FREE (optional £4 donation to Trees for Cities)
